Bottle service and bling is not always at the top of everyone\u2019s agenda on a night out in Los Angeles. I mean, yes, it\u2019s nice to see Leonardo Di Caprio sat in a booth with a bevvy of Brazilian models, but that alone is not exactly going to get the party rocking!<\/p>\n

Los Angeles may be home to the stars, their pets and their publicists, but you can still find a great party in The City of Angels if you know where to look. Check out our guide to some of Los Angeles\u2019 most hip and happening parties without Puff Daddy or a bottle of Cristal in sight. All these parties move around a lot though, so be sure to check on their websites and Facebook pages for all the latest gig information and listings.<\/p>\n

Culprit<\/a> \u2013 Various Los Angeles Locations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hosted by Droog and their infamous record label Culprit, these parties see the world\u2019s premier underground DJs travel to Los Angeles to play their deep down and dirtiest. Their pool parties at \u2018The Standard Downtown\u2019 are the stuff of legend, with Apollonia in town on Saturday\u00a0July 5 at Lot 613 on Imperial St. In fact, The Standard will be hosting the Apollonia after party on Sunday 6\u00a0from 1-8pm with free entry to anyone who caught their show. You can\u2019t say fairer than that folks. Big shout out to Andrei who is always an exemplary host!<\/p>\n

All Day I Dream<\/a> \u2013 Various Los Angeles Locations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lee Burridge\u2019s infamous daytime shindig is slowly becoming the stuff of LA folklore. First started in 2011 to host his record label parties, plans are now in place to take the promotion further afield to Europe and NYC this July. LA is their original home though, with the next All Day I Dream event featuring Adriatique, DJ Three and an extended set from Lee Burridge himself at Fort Fox on the East River \u00a0in NYC for July 4\u00a0celebrations.<\/p>\n

Lights Down Low \u2013 Various California Locations<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LDL boys are not strictly tied down just to Los Angeles, but they do enough parties here to make our list. There next shindig is at Los Globos on\u00a0July 5 2014 with Rufus, Young Adults and Golden Touch. With a heavy emphasis on the music and the sound system, Lights Down Low are just as likely to throw down in a warehouse as they are in a nightclub. Check their website for full party information across California.<\/p>\n

SoulNova<\/a> \u2013 Various Los Angeles Locations<\/strong><\/p>\n

Organised by local boys Clarence McDowell and Manny Lizaso alongside Australian DJ\/promoter Jamesen Re, the SoulNova parties pop up all over the Westside of the city at some truly original spaces. Whether it\u2019s a private\u00a0July 4 boat party or an invitation only after hours soiree, the SoulNova boys put a lot of time and effort into finding interesting venues with excellent, underground house vibes. Their next event will be hosting a bi weekly after party for the Summer Twilight Series in Santa Monica. Sign up to their mailing list via their website for exclusive invitations, mixes and more.<\/p>\n

So as you can see, it\u2019s not all silicone implants, dogs in handbags and sugar daddies driving around a bevvy of wannabes hoping to be the next big thing. Well, it is, but you evenings don\u2019t need to be that way inclined if you dig a deeper into Los Angeles\u2019 exuberant nightlife scene.<\/p>\n
